    Make sure to use a non-stick pan when making this recipe. Non-stick pans have a specific coating that makes cleaning and cooking much easier. We like this pan from CuisineArt. Don’t skip this non-stick step!

    Maple Syrup

    Double check that you are using pure maple syrup. The ingredients list should say 100% maple syrup. This will give your vegan caramel sauce the best flavor. Of course, you could use one that has fructose in it or maple flavor. However, these kinds of "maple syrups" don't contain as much pure maple syrup and will be higher in sugar.

    Is coconut milk the same as coconut cream?

    Coconut milk and coconut cream are derived from the same ingredients, but coconut cream is thicker. Coconut cream has a lesser amount of water and more coconut. Make sure that you use coconut milk for this vegan caramel sauce recipe.

    How long can I store this vegan caramel sauce?

    We recommend storing this sauce in the fridge for no longer than three days. Alternatively, you can store it in the freezer for up to three months.
