This Easy Rosé Sauce is perfect for pasta. The recipe is simple to make, and the sauce is extremely tasty! Serve with a side of crusty garlic bread.

Sometimes simple is best - and that's definitely the case with this rose pasta sauce. It only requires a handful of ingredients, which you probably already have in your pantry.
To make rose pasta sauce, simply saute a bit of garlic in olive oil. Add a can of plain tomato sauce. Then stir in some cream and parmesan cheese.
And that's it - you have a simple homemade sauce that's ready in under 20 minutes.
I love serving this sauce with pasta - penne is my personal favorite! But it's also delicious served as a dipping sauce for arancini or even as a pizza sauce atop homemade pizza dough. Yum!

Tips & Tricks
Adjust the seasoning. You can season the rose sauce with salt and pepper, as in the recipe. Or you can experiment with adding your favorite fresh herbs, such as basil or oregano.
Cooking cream. The recipe calls for cooking cream, which is somewhat lighter than heavy cream. However, if you can't find that, feel free to substitute heavy cream instead.
Tomato Sauce. I find it best to use a plain canned tomato sauce as the base for this rose sauce. That allows you to adjust the seasoning to your own particular taste.
Storing & Freezing
To Store in the Fridge:
Let the sauce cool to room temperature, then transfer to an airtight container. It will keep in the fridge for up to 3 - 4 days. I like to store mine in a mason jar.
To Reheat:
Warm the sauce gently on the stovetop over low heat, stirring frequently. If it thickens too much in the fridge, add a splash of milk or cream to loosen it back up.
To Freeze:
Let the sauce cool completely, then portion it into freezer-safe containers or zip-top bags. The sauce will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Easy Variations
Spicy Rosé Sauce: Want to add a little kick? Stir in a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce. I've even swirled in a spoonful of Calabrian chili paste when feeling a bit fancy.
Vodka Sauce: A splash of vodka (about 1-2 tablespoons) added right before the cream turns this into a cheeky little take on penne alla vodka.
Roasted Red Pepper Rose Sauce: Blend a few roasted red peppers with the tomato sauce before heating - it makes the color even dreamier and adds a tangy sweetness.

Yum! Really good. It’s a perfect rosée sauce “modification” for regular tomato sauce. Sometimes when I don’t have cream, or want to make it lower calories, I use half and half. I just cook it down a bit longer. Still turns out tasty!

Delicious sauce recipe. I did make some minor adjustments by adding chopped onions and a bit of basil and parsley. I also didn’t have cream, so I used fat free half/half and skim milk (1/2 cup of each). It’s what I had and it was delicious. The Parmesan cheese thickened it up just enough. It was really good with shrimp and crab filled ravioli!

Looks like an easy Rosé sauce, however, I just wanted to point out that it's not vegan - vegans don't consume any dairy. 😉

Used half and half and added a scoop of ricotta. Absolutely delicious. I could have licked my plate

I used Hunt's tomato sauce and after 5 minutes of boiling the sauce was still too liquid so I added some cornstarch dispersed in cold water. The taste is delicious compared to the Stephano brand I usually buy (which is pretty good for a store bought rosé sauce).
