Tips & Tricks
Sieve or Cheese Cloth
A sieve is a strainer, but with a fine mesh material so that smaller grains are separated from the liquid.
Cheese cloth is a thin cloth-usually used for making cheese-that looks a lot like gauze, but it's used to strain liquid.
Either one of these works great for this apple pie vodka recipe.
Soak It
Make sure you soak your vodka for the full 48 hours so that the spices are released into the vodka. If you drink it right away, you won't notice much of a difference in the flavor.
Use Sweet Apples
You can use a variety of apples in your apple pie vodka. Try using more than one type of apple for different flavors of apple pie vodka.
Try Gala, Fuji, Braeburn, Pink Lady, or Honey Crisp apples.
Leftover Syrup
You'll likely have some remaining simple syrup. This is great for mixing cocktails-especially mojitos.
