This super versatile Thai Peanut Sauce is the perfect combination of creamy, savory, and sweet! Full of flavor, made with a few simple ingredients and fast and easy to put together- it takes only 5 minutes from start to finish!
It’s ridiculous how quick it is to make this Thai peanut sauce! Yes, just 5 minutes! Just mix everything up and ... done! I promise you, nothing can go wrong! 😉
How to Make Thai Peanut Sauce
Start by melting the peanut butter in the microwave for a quick 30 seconds.
Then in go the rest of the ingredients -- maple syrup, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, and ginger.
Give the sauce a good stir with a hand-held whisk - or you can blend everything in a food processor or blender if you prefer.
Slowly add a bit of hot water to thin out the Thai peanut sauce, and adjust the consistency.
Add more hot water - in one tablespoon increments - until the sauce is the perfect consistency.
And that’s it, you’re done. No cooking at all!
This 5-minute Thai Peanut Sauce is perfect as a dipping sauce for spring rolls or for drizzling over veggies and rice.
I use this sauce for my famous Thai Peanut Noodles - a totally delicious (and easy) weeknight meal. (Oh, and there's an instant pot version too.)
How long can you store homemade Thai peanut sauce?
This Thai peanut sauce is the kind of recipe that just gets better the longer it sits. So you can make it days ahead or store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks and it will still be amazing!
Just transfer the sauce to a container or jar and keep it sealed tight in the fridge. When you’re ready to use it, simply reheat in the microwave to soften the peanut butter and whisk everything together again.
If the sauce has become too thick, you can thin it out with a little bit of hot water.

Good combination of ingredients. Quick and easy to make. Next time I'll try a little less peanut butter and a little more soy sauce. Also I like to use chunky peanut butter.
