In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together egg, honey, apple sauce, milk, oil, and vanilla. Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
Add dates and mix a little. Divide the dough into oiled or papered muffin cups.
Bake in the center of the oven preheated to 375°F for 20 minutes.
