Cheese plates don’t have to end when you or your guests are vegan. Thanks to Kite Hill we actually believe this. While soaking cashews and blending them with everything from mustard to tahini works every once in awhile, we can all agree that homemade vegan cheese can get a little tiring after awhile…especially when you love cheese. Kite Hill’s artisan vegan cheeses are made with almond milk for a creamy, rich cheese-like taste.
So go ahead, get out your cheese board and serve Kite Hill’s artisan vegan cheeses. We tried the soft fresh truffle dill and chive, as well as the soft fresh original. Both became addictions for us rather quickly. Here’s a little more on each of these mouthwatering cheeses.
Soft Fresh Original
This creamy delicacy and sweet, balanced and rich. This cheese tastes best cold, served with olives, nuts, pickled vegetables, and fresh fruit. Try it warm too! Serve this warm cheese spread right on crostinis or a baguette. You can even crumble this cheese and toss it into a green salad—delicious!
Wine pairing: A powerful, spicy red with good acidity and hints of red fruit.
Soft Fresh Truffle Dill and Chive
This supple, creamy cheese has earthy, black truffle overtones. The almond milk curds are mixed by hand with fresh truffle oil and a mixture of herbs. The herbs stay fresh, as the cheese is immediately shaped and pressed before packaging. Served best cold.
Wine pairing: Extra dry white wine variety.
