It’s that time again! Twice a year on Oh My Veggies we do a month-long giveaway blowout featuring some of our favorite products. This month, we’re giving away 16 of our favorite food-related items — from pizza to kitchen tools to candy, August is going to be jam-packed with giveaways and you can enter to win all of them daily through the end of the month.
1. PlanetBox “Rover” Lunchbox*
PlanetBox’s bento-style, stainless steel lunchboxes are ideal for those who want to make their lunch hour eco-friendly—or even those who just don’t want their food to touch. The Rover features two extra round containers (Big Dipper and Little Dipper) that are great for trail mix or yogurt, and there’s plenty of room inside to fit a sandwich and a few sides. There’s also a handy carrying case, in which you can put a cold pack to keep everything fresh. I’ve used mine to pack quite a few lunches; it’s so much more convenient than hauling around a bunch of smaller plastic containers—and way better for the environment, too. Best of all, they are dishwasher safe.
Barbara’s Puffins and Snackimals cereals are staples in the home of every parent I know, but I have a sneaking suspicion the adults might be dipping into the stash, too. Barbara’s cereals are tasty as can be and many are vegan, gluten-free and/or made from organic and non-GMO ingredients. Their Better Granolas are lower in sugar than many brands (the Dark Chocolate Cranberry is so good with almond milk), and they also make several varieties of cheese puffs and fig bars. Barbara’s is giving away 3 products (winner’s choice).
3. Annie Chun’s Seaweed Snacks*
Seaweed is pretty trendy right now, but Annie Chun’s was ahead of the curve with their Seaweed Snacks. They just launched a new line of Seaweed Crisps with seaweed layered over a savory, crispy brown rice cracker. The new line includes 3 flavors: Cinnamon, sweet-spicy Gochujang (my favorite) and Original. They’re gluten-free, too! Annie Chun’s is giving away a prize pack featuring the new Seaweed Crisps, as well as Seaweed Snacks.
4. Badass Power Cookie*
Don’t be dissuaded by the green color of this cookie—that’s due to the sneaky addition of sea vegetables, which adds 4-5 fruit/veggie servings worth of phytonutrients to these phenomenal-tasting vegan cookies. The cookies are gigantic, so you feel like you’re cheating the system, but you’re really getting 3 times more protein than beef, plus vitamin B-12, antioxidants, iron and calcium. These are great for an after-workout snack, or when you want something sweet but can’t justify junk food. Badass Power Cookie is giving away 6 cookies, a tank top, and a code for 25% on its site (the code is good for up to 3 purchases).
5. Daiya Cheezecakes*
Store-bought fake dairy products weird me out a little, so I tend to rely on homemade versions. But one can only soak so many cashews, and after I tried their gluten-free and vegan Cheezy Mac, I was hooked on Daiya. (The Deluxe Cheddar Style tastes just like the boxed mac and cheese you had as a kid…and/or all throughout college.) Daiya’s other products, including their cheese-style blocks and melts, as well as their new line of Cheezecakes—available in New York, Strawberry, Chocolate and Key Lime—are likewise dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free and amazing. Daiya is giving away a prize pack of their products (winner’s choice).
6. Dandies Vegan Marshmallows*
Many a vegetarian and vegan have been left on the s’mores sidelines thanks to the gelatin in marshmallows. No longer, though. Dandies’ vegan variety tastes exactly like regular marshmallows; they also melt just like them and lack that odd kinda-crunchy-chalky texture that some vegan marshmallows have. (I used Dandies in Rice Krispie bars and s’mores, and no one was the wiser.) Plus, there’s no corn syrup, GMO ingredients or gelatin to be found. Dandies is giving away 4 bags of marshmallows: 2 of the mini size and 2 of the large.
7. Full Circle Infuser + Glass Travel Bottle
Water bottles are a dime a dozen, but this glass travel bottle with a built-in citrus reamer is in it for the long haul. Paired with the infuser, which transforms citrus juice into ice cubes (meaning no pesticide-soaked peels make their way into your lemon water), you’ll be a hydration machine.
8. Garden of Flavor Probiotic Juices*
Having to hit up the local juice bar isn’t always the most efficient way to get your cold-pressed veggies—and sometimes neither is dragging out your juicer, prepping vegetables, and cleaning said juicer. Having a variety of Garden of Flavor cold-pressed juices in the fridge this summer was an absolute lifesaver for me, and the fact that they include probiotics is icing on the cake (or whatever the juice equivalent of cake is). The veggie Garden of Flavor juices actually taste like fresh veggies, which is refreshing (many juice companies feel the need to add apple juice to everything), although the Goji Pineapple and Appleade have a nice natural sweetness. My favorites were Turmeric Tonic, Twisted Roots and Cucumber Fresh. Garden of Flavor is giving away 3 of their 1-Day Juice Cleanse packs (including Goji Pineapple, Cucumber Fresh, Mean Green, Twisted Roots, White Knight and Turmeric Tonic) to 1 winner.
9. KitchenIQ V-etched Zester
If you’ve ever tried to use citrus peel sans zester, you know the struggle is pretty real. KitchenIQ’s V-etched Zester makes zesting a lime (or lemon) easy as key lime pie, thanks to its v-shaped teeth, nonstick coating, and a storage container that gathers the zest as you use the tool. There’s also a handy squeegee to help get the zest from the back of the zester.
10. The Gluten Free Bar*
Okay, raise your hand if you currently have at least 3 (probably squashed) “emergency” protein or granola bars in your purse, car, gym locker, diaper bag or backpack that will never get eaten. The same fate does not await The Gluten Free bar—in fact I finished them all in an embarrassingly short period of time. These vegan, soy-free, gluten-free snacks are soft, slightly sweet and remind me a lot of homemade bars—but full of protein and fiber. And I didn’t have to make them. The Oatmeal Raisin and Dark Chocolate Coconut were my favorites. Also try the company’s Gluten Free Bites, which are like eating the healthiest chocolate truffle you can imagine. The Gluten Free Bar is giving away 12 of their bars.
11. La Tourangelle
The flavor of La Tourangelle’s nut, avocado, pumpkin seed and other artisan oils adds incredible depth to dressings, pastas or whatever else you’re making. Plus, the containers are so fancy! They sell every kind of oil you can imagine—from coconut to roasted pistachio to organic canola—and many are organic, non-GMO and Fair Trade certified. La Tourangelle is giving away their Best Seller Trio Oil Pack (featuring avocado, walnut and hazelnut oil).
12. Smart Flour Foods*
If you’ve given up on making gluten-free pizza at home, you need to listen up: Smart Flour’s frozen crust (made from sorghum, tapioca, amaranth and teff—it’s also dairy-free and soy-free) is the best GF pizza crust I’ve ever had, and probably in the top 5 of any crusts I’ve eaten. It is thinner—so if you’re in the market for deep dish you’re out of luck—but this crust doesn’t get greasy or fall apart, nor does it have the gummy texture that many GF crusts do. I’ve been topping mine with hummus, kale, red onion and a sprinkle of goat cheese, but it works just as well under piles of mozzarella and tomato sauce. Smart Flour Foods also makes frozen pizzas, which aren’t vegan, but delicious nonetheless. Smart Flour Foods is giving away a prize pack including 1 cheese pizza, 1 margherita pizza, and 1 2-pack of crust.
13. Yuve Nutritional Shake*
Yuve is basically the protein smoothie of your dreams—but there’s no prep work, chopping or blending required. Chia seeds, kale, spirulina, coconut, papaya and cherries are just a few of the ingredients you’ll find in this delicious (and filling) vegan shake that has 16 grams of protein. And, bonus: it only has 2 grams of sugar per serving. We liked it blended with a little unsweetened almond milk. Yuve is giving away a 15-serving bottle of their nutritional shake.
14. UNREAL candy*
I have a nasty candy habit that rears its ugly head two to three times per year, and luckily one of those times fell when I had UNREAL’s “unjunked” sweets on hand. I still ate like a crazy person, but I felt much better about it knowing that everything I was eating had less sugar, contained no gluten or GMOs, and was made with ingredients that were organic, sustainably sourced and fair trade. Bonus: the nut butter cups taste exactly like Reese’s! UNREAL is giving away a deluxe gift bag containing its dark chocolate nut butter cups.
15. Wind and Willow Home
Wind and Willow’s awe- (and sometimes envy) inspiring Instagram is probably the most beautiful thing in the world, so of course we had to tell Oh My Veggies readers all about them. This up-and-coming, Minnesota-based kitchenware/home goods store handcrafts gorgeous color-dipped wooden bowls, spoons, cutting boards and planters that are sure to be on every wedding registry gift in the country by this time next year. All their products are made from high-quality woods like walnut, beech and maple. Wind and Willow Home is giving away a set of lime green-dipped beech wood serving spoons.
16. Le Creuset
We’re not shy about how much we love Le Creuset. This heritage brand has been around since 1925, and home cooks of all stripes and skill levels have flocked to them for high-quality cookware and bakeware that lasts forever—and best of all, looks fabulous. Their Cuisines of the World line includes an enameled cast iron wok with a gently curved interior and flat base, perfect for stir-frying. The tempered glass lid locks in moisture for steaming veggies. Le Creuset is giving away 1 wok, in the winner’s choice of color.
*Disclosure: Most of these brands are ones that we already love, regularly buy, and use often; we asked them if they’d sponsor a prize for the giveaway. Anything marked with an asterisk is an item we decided to include after trying samples sent by the sponsor. This isn’t a sponsored post!
