What I Use In My Photography

Not too long ago, I was taking all my blog photos with my phone (I even wrote a post with tips for food photography with an iPhone). While my iPhone worked at the time, I knew that I needed to improve my photos in order to grow my blog. When I was researching DSLR cameras, I spent a lot of time asking food bloggers I knew about the equipment they used in their photography–what cameras did they recommend? Did they use natural lighting or studio? And now I get asked those same questions myself!

So these are the things I use in my photography. If I had to recommend one single item from this list for all food bloggers, it wouldn’t be the camera or the umbrella light–it would be Plate to Pixel. I’ve never taken a photography class or had any formal training at all. Everything I know about food photography is from that book. If you don’t already have it, it will be the best $16 you ever spent!
