Vegan Chive Cream Cheese + 4 More Things We’re Loving This Month

probiotic smoothies, uptons jackfruit, tandoor chef naan pizza, kite hill cream cheese, barnana bites

Once a month, we round-up some of our favorite vegetarian foods and kitchen tools and share them with you here on the Marketplace. Here are this month’s picks! (Note that we received samples for review on products marked with an asterisk.)

1. Nomva Probiotic Smoothie Packs*

We all know we’re supposed to be taking probiotics, but choosing a good probiotic can either be too confusing or taste bad! These probiotic super smoothie packs taste like a smoothie from your local juice bar. They’re perfectly smooth, cold, and fruity. You can’t even taste the veggies! Get your probiotics in each day without spending too much money or putting up with something that tastes downright gross. — Kate

2. Upton’s Naturals Bar-B-Que Jackfruit*

Jackfruit is an awesome meat substitute, but it can be a little intimidating to work with if it’s a new ingredient to you. Upton’s Naturals takes all the guesswork and most of the labor out of whipping up a delicious batch of vegan jackfruit. Their jackfruit is conveniently packaged with delicious sauces, including Thai Curry, Bar-B-Que, and Chili Lime Carnitas, so all you’ve got to do is heat and serve. I tried and loved all three, but the Bar-B-Que Jackfruit was my favorite — I served it up pulled pork sandwich style, with some vegan ranch and shredded cabbage. — Alissa

3. Tandoor Chef Eggplant Naan Pizza

This Naan pizza crust is incredibly comforting. It’s the perfect pizza to warm you after a busy day when you don’t have time to cook. The ingredients are fresh, and I love how the eggplant makes this pizza heartier. All Tandoor Chef Naan Pizzas are fired in a Tandoor oven. I also enjoyed the Margherita if you’re looking for a classic pizza. — Kate

4. Kite Hill Chive Cream Cheese Style Spread

I spread this vegan chive cream cheese on a bagel every morning until it ran out. If you’re vegan or trying to eat less dairy, this cream cheese will totally fool you. I can’t taste the difference between this and regular cream cheese, except that Kite Hill’s cheese is less sour, which is even better! — Kate

5. Barnana Organic Peanut Butter Chewy Banana Bites

Now when I’m craving a quick dairy-free treat late at night, I just reach for one of these. They make great movie snacks if you prefer sweeter treats, and I’ve brought them with me traveling. They hold me over between meals, and they’re an excellent source of fiber. I can’t get enough of the peanut butter ones because they taste like banana bread, but I almost like the dark chocolate just as much.
